Three subgenera, viz. Encentrum s.str., Isoencentrum, and Pseudencentrum were established within genus Encentrum by De Smet (1997) [Ref.17163]. Many species of this genus however, cannot be assigned to any of these subgenera due to inadequate descriptions.

Furcularia marina Dujardin, 1841; subsequent designation by Harring (1913) [Ref.17237].
