Description: From Schabetsberger et al. (2004:80) [Ref.15800]: "Lago Biao fills the caldera of Pico Biao (2000 m a.s.l.) at 1750 m a.s.l. and is roughly circular with a maximum length of approximately 950 m. The caldera is covered by dense mossy forest. In L. Biao we encountered four dominant species of rotifers (Anuraeopsis fissa, Polyarthra indica, Trichocerca simoneae, T. similis), one cyclopoid copepod (Tropocyclops prasinus tjeefi), one cladoceran (Daphnia laevis), and one species of Chaoborus larvae (Chaoborus (Sayomyia) cf. ceratopogones."
